RJF Engineering will provide on-site inspections of all areas
of site construction including road construction, drainage improvements, water
main installations, sewer main installations, earthworks, concrete work,
excavation and backfill, paving, utilities, etc. as necessary to assure
compliance with the plans and specifications.
Our engineers will not provide a certification of compliance until all
improvements have been completed in substantial compliance with the approved
plans. Deficiencies are noted to
the contractor as soon as possible so that modifications and repairs can be
completed at minimal cost.
RJF Engineering has completed many feasibility studies for
clients in the past. The client
generally has an idea of what he or she would like to build.
Our job in the feasibility stage is to investigate site conditions and
zoning ordinances to determine whether or not the subject parcel is suited for
development to the expectations of the client.
Site conditions include access to property, traffic concerns, soils
conditions, wetlands delineations, site topography, depths to bedrock and
groundwater, zoning codes and requirements, site grading, as well as other
potentially adverse environmental factors which should be identified as early as
possible such that the client can decide whether or not the project is feasible.
Planning Board / Town Board Consultation:
RJF Engineering has many years of experience dealing with
municipal, county, state and federal agencies to obtain the required permits and
approvals necessary for certain projects. Some examples include: subdivision
approval from local municipal planning boards and the county health dept.,
highway entrance permits and utility works permits from the NYSDOT, wetlands
disturbance permits from the NYSDEC, approvals from the state DOH and DEC for
construction of new water facilities and sewage collection and disposal systems,
as well as many more permits and approvals too detailed to mention.
We provide all correspondence and coordination with agencies to get the
required permits and approvals in a timely manner.
SEQR / DEIS Environmental Review:
Many
site plans have been prepared by RJF Engineering for a number of different
commercial operations including car dealerships, retail service stores,
professional office buildings, gas stations, etc.
RJF Engineering has designed these sites from beginning to end including
parking layout, grading plans, drainage design, erosion control design, sewage
disposal systems, as well as any other design criteria required by local
Planning Boards and consultants as needed for site plan approval including Board
representation at Town Board and Planning Board meetings.
RJF Engineering and Surveying has many years of experience in residential and commercial subdivisions. Subdivisions include well and subsurface sewage disposal system designs as well as public water and sewer facilities, zoning code review and compliance, detailed engineering design of each building lot including house, driveway, well and septic facilities. RJF Engineering provides Board representation to address all Planning Board, Town Engineers and Highway Supt. concerns as needed for approval.
Subdivision / Site Plan Review:
The engineers within the firm of RJF Engineering have many
years of experience representing municipalities with regards to site
engineering. Included with their
experience is the technical review of plans and specifications associated with
residential and commercial subdivisions as well as proposed site plans.
In reviewing plans submitted to local municipalities, the engineers at
RJF Engineering will provide technical review comments for design engineers to
address such that all design criteria will fully comply with municipal, county,
state and federal codes, rules and regulations.
Subsurface Sewage Disposal Design:
There have been many projects designed by RJF Engineering
including minor and major subdivisions as well as numerous site plans involving
the design of subsurface septic disposal systems. We provide on-site soils testing including deep test pits and
percolation tests as required. RJF
Engineering provides conventional subsurface disposal systems including shallow
trench systems, pump systems, absorption beds, seepage pits as well as alternative
systems including fill systems ( mound and raised bed systems).
We will provide all engineering support necessary to obtain any permits
required.
The design and permitting of water supply systems is included
in our staffs experience. We
have experience in upgrading small water systems including groundwater supply,
well yield testing, pumping and distribution as well as water treatment
facilities including iron/manganese removal, chlorination, filtration, sulfur
removal, etc. We have experience in
water storage tank design and water main design, testing and construction
inspection as well as booster pump stations.
RJF Engineering provides all technical support including engineering
calculations, reports, specs and plans necessary to obtain approval from the
state health department and local water departments.
